Manage storage AZs

A storage AZ is a group of storage spaces for virtual cloud disk services. When you create a cloud disk, you must select a storage AZ.

Developed based on OpenStack Cinder, the storage AZs are also called Cinder AZs.

A compute node maps to a Cinder AZ. When you create a compute node, you must assign it a Cinder AZ name. You can then use the Cinder AZ to provide one or multiple storage services. If you use a Cinder AZ for different storage services, assign different storage AZ alias to that Cinder AZ to identify those storage services. For example, if you assign aliases a and b to Cinder AZ 1 and assign Cinder AZ a to an organization, resources in Cinder AZ b are invisible to the organization.

Storage AZ management contains the following tasks:

Create a storage AZ service

Edit a storage AZ service

Filter storage AZ services

Delete storage AZ services

Allocate storage AZs to organizations

Create a storage AZ service

About this task

Perform this task to assign an AZ alias to a Cinder AZ to identify a Cinder AZ service. If you use a Cinder AZ for different storage services, you can assign different storage AZ alias to that Cinder AZ to identify those storage services. For example, if you assign aliases a and b to Cinder AZ 1 and assign Cinder AZ a to an organization, resources in Cinder AZ b are invisible to the organization.

Prerequisites

Create compute nodes and assign Cinder AZ names to the compute nodes, as described in "Create a compute node."

Procedure

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Resources.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select AZs > Storage AZs.

  1. Click Create.

  1. Configure storage AZ parameters as required.
