You can set up peering connections between VPCs or classic networks when deployment mode selection is enabled or disabled.
When deployment mode selection is disabled, you can create peering connections as follows:
Create a peering connection between local subnets and peer subnets. Firewalls are enabled by default, and the firewall state is not configurable.
Create a peering connection between two networks. Firewalls are disabled by default, and the firewall state is not configurable.
When deployment mode selection is enabled, you can create peering connections as follows:
In centralized deployment mode, create a peering connection between local subnets and peer subnets, and set the state of firewalls.
In distributed deployment mode, create a peering connection between two networks. Firewalls are disabled by default, and the firewall state is not configurable.
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select Peering Connections from the Network menu.
From the left navigation pane, select Advanced Settings > Peering Connection Settings.
Disable deployment mode selection.
From the left navigation pane, select Peering Connections.
Click Create.
Configure the peering connection parameters.
Table-1 Configuring peering connection parameters
Parameter |
Description |
|
Basic Info |
Name |
Enter a name for the peering connection. |
Local Resource |
Resource Type |
Select VPC or router as the local network type. |
Local VPC/Local Router |
Select a local VPC or a router of a local classic network. |
|
Local Subnets |
Select the local subnets that require Layer 3 connectivity to the peer resources. If you do not select any subnets, you cannot select subnets when you edit the peering connection. |
|
Peer Resource |
Organization |
Select the current organization or a different organization. |
Peer Organization |
Select a peer organization. The peering connection is set up after an organization administrator of the peer organization accepts the peering connection request. This parameter is available if Other Organization is selected for the Organization parameter. |
|
Resource Type |
Select VPC or router as the peer network type. Make sure the local and peer resource types are consistent. |
|
Peer VPC/Peer Router |
Select a peer VPC or a router of a peer classic network. |
|
Peer Subnets |
Select the peer subnets that require Layer 3 connectivity to the local resources. If you do not select any subnets, you cannot select subnets when you edit the peering connection. |
Click Create Now.
If the peering connection is set up within an organization, the state of the peering connection is Accepted. If the peering connection is set up between two organizations, the state of the peering connection is Pending. The state will become accepted after the peering connection is accepted by the peer organization.
With deployment mode selection enabled, you can set the state of firewalls and select whether to set up a peering connection between selected subnets.
Enabling peering connections requires using specific controller versions. For more information, see Key Features and Software Platforms Compatibility Matrix.
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Services, and then select Peering Connections from the Network menu.
From the left navigation pane, select Advanced Settings > Peering Connection Settings.
Enable deployment mode selection.
From the left navigation pane, select Peering Connections.
Click Create.
Configure the following parameters in addition to the parameters in Table-1.
