You must place a worker node in maintenance mode before you can maintain it. When you perform this task, choose whether you want to drain the node as needed.
If you do not drain the node, Kubernetes will not schedule new containers to the node until it exits the maintenance mode.
If you drain the node, Kubernetes will move all containers from the node to other available nodes to avoid service interruption. When you use this option, you must make sure the cluster has worker nodes that have sufficient resources to accommodate those containers.
You cannot place a controller node in maintenance mode.
Open the container cluster page, as shown in "View detailed information about a container cluster."
Click the Nodes tab.
Click Enter Maintenance Mode for a worker node.
