Table-1 Configuring cloud disk parameters
Parameter |

|
Owner |
Select an owner. This parameter is available only for system administrators and organization administrators. The selected owner must a user that already exists in the system. A system administrator can select itself or a random user. An organization administrator can select itself or a random user in the same organization (users in suborganizations are not included). A user can select only itself. |
AZ |
Select an AZ. |
Name |
Enter a name for the cloud disk. |
Storage Type |
Select a disk storage type. The default disk storage type Normal is defined by the system. If you select this disk storage type, the system places the cloud disk on a random storage pool in the selected AZ. To add disk storage types, see "Create a disk storage type." |
Shared |
Configure whether enable the cloud disk to be attached to multiple cloud hosts. Only CAS supports this feature. The provisioning type of a shared CAS disk is thick provisioning only and the disk usage is 100%. The default provisioning type of a non-shared CAS disk is thin provisioning. |
Creation Method |
Select whether to create a formatted empty cloud disk or create a cloud disk from an image. The latter contains data of the image. When you create a cloud disk from an image, the image cannot be an ISO image. |
Disk Type |
Select a disk type. To create disk types, see "Create a disk type." |
Attach to Cloud Host |
Attach the cloud disk to a selected cloud host after the cloud disk is created. To avoid failures of cloud disk detaching, make sure the selected cloud host has an operating system. (If the cloud host has no operating system, hot disk deletion will fail.) To attach a cloud disk to a cloud host, see "Attach a cloud disk to cloud hosts." |
Device Name |
Specify a device name for the cloud disk. This parameter is available only after you enable device name configuration for the cloud host to be attached. If you specify a device name, the system uses the specified device name to attach the cloud disk to the cloud host. |
