CHAP is a three-way handshake protocol. In CHAP, a username is optional to the authenticator. In ONEStor, the authenticator in CHAP is always configured with a username, so the client can also authenticate the authenticator.
CHAP does not transmit passwords directly over the network. It transmits a password with a random packet ID together after MD5 calculation to improve security.
The cluster supports a maximum of 10000 incoming CHAP accounts and a maximum of 10000 outgoing CHAP accounts. |
