Manage a VM from the console

About this task

You can help users troubleshoot VM problems from the Web console. Whether you can access the console depends on the VM state and the VM user's permission as follows:

Prerequisites

Before accessing the Web console, do the following:

Procedure

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Data Center >Virtualization > Cluster name > Host name > VM name.

  1. Click Console.

  1. To disconnect the VM, click Disconnect. This button is available when the VM is connected.

  1. To connect to the VM, click Connect. This button is available when the VM is disconnected.

  1. To refresh the VM, click Refresh.

  1. To enable the VM, click Start, and then click OK.

  1. To reboot the VM, click Reboot, and then click OK.

  1. To shut down the VM, click Shut down, and then click OK.

  1. To mount or unmount a local or shared image file, perform the following tasks:

  1. Click Virtual CD Drive. The system automatically downloads file Jnbd.jnlp.

  1. Double click file Jnbd.jnlp.

  1. In the dialog box that opens, select I accept the risk and want to run this application and click Run.

  1. In the dialog box that opens, you can mount or unmount a local or shared image file.

  1. To send a key combination to the VM, click Send, and then select a key combination.

  1. To install Agent and CAStools, click Install Template Tool, and then select Mount CD Drive to load VdiAgent and CAStools apks.

  1. To unmount the CD drive, you can click Install Template Tool, and then select Unmount CD Drive.
