You can help users troubleshoot VM problems from the Web console. Whether you can access the console depends on the VM state and the VM user's permission as follows:
If the VM is not being used, you can access the console without the permission of the VM user.
If the VM is being used, you cannot access the console without the permission of the VM user.
Before accessing the Web console, do the following:
Make sure the browser version meets the requirements. As a best practice, use Chrome39, Firefox19.0, or higher versions.
Make sure VNC proxy is enabled and the IP address of Space Console is configured as the proxy server address if the login method is HTTPS. For more information about VNC proxy, see "Edit a VM." For more information about VNC proxy server configuration, see "Configure advanced parameters."
Before using the virtual CD drive of the Web console, you must perform the following tasks:
Install the JRE program.
Add the address of Space Console (for example, http://<Console IP>:8083) to the exception site list on the Security tab of the Java control panel.
From the left navigation pane, select Data Center >Virtualization > Cluster name > Host name > VM name.
Click Console.
To disconnect the VM, click Disconnect. This button is available when the VM is connected.
To connect to the VM, click Connect. This button is available when the VM is disconnected.
To refresh the VM, click Refresh.
To enable the VM, click Start, and then click OK.
To reboot the VM, click Reboot, and then click OK.
To shut down the VM, click Shut down, and then click OK.
To mount or unmount a local or shared image file, perform the following tasks:
Click Virtual CD Drive. The system automatically downloads file Jnbd.jnlp.
Double click file Jnbd.jnlp.
In the dialog box that opens, select I accept the risk and want to run this application and click Run.
In the dialog box that opens, you can mount or unmount a local or shared image file.
To send a key combination to the VM, click Send, and then select a key combination.
To install Agent and CAStools, click Install Template Tool, and then select Mount CD Drive to load VdiAgent and CAStools apks.
