Use the system dashboard

The system dashboard presents status and resource usage information about the UIS system, hosts, VMs, and distribute storage cluster in graphics to help you quickly determine system and service health and performance.

On the system dashboard page, you can add shortcuts for common tasks in the right quick task pane for quick task launch. In addition to the shortcuts provided the system, you can add custom shortcuts for quick access to your favorite URLs.

Access the system dashboard

1. On the top navigation bar, click Dashboard.

2. To display the page in full screen, click the Full Screen icon .

3. To quit full-screen mode, click ESC.

4. To display statistics on a per-cluster basis, select a cluster from the cluster list at the top right of the Physical Resource Usage area. If you select All, the dashboard displays statistics about all clusters.

Add shortcuts to the quick task pane

1. On the top navigation bar, click Dashboard.

2. Click the Set icon  in the right quick task pane.

3. In the dialog box that opens, select the shortcuts to add.

Add a custom shortcut

1. On the top navigation bar, click Dashboard.

2. Click the Set icon  in the right quick task pane.

3. In the dialog box that opens, click the Add icon .

4. In the dialog box that opens, configure the shortcut, and then click OK.

Edit a custom shortcut

1. On the top navigation bar, click Dashboard.

2. Click the Set icon  in the right quick task pane.

3. Hovering over the custom shortcut you are editing, click the Edit icon .

4. In the dialog box that opens, edit the settings, and then click OK.

Delete a custom shortcut

1. On the top navigation bar, click Dashboard.

2. Click the Set icon  in the right quick task pane.

3. Hovering over the custom shortcut you are deleting, click the Delete icon .

4. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

Parameters

• System Health: Displays the system health score for the most recent system health check, which might be manually or automatically performed. To set the automatic system health check interval, click the Set icon  in the system health widget. For example, if the check interval is four hours, the system automatically evaluates the health state every four hours. To perform a manual check, click Hot Key at the top right.

• Host Health: Displays the host health score. The formula for calculating the host health score is as follows:

Host health score = CPU health score × 30% + memory health score × 40% + storage health score × 15% + network health score × 15%

This parameter is displayed only on the dashboard.

• Storage Busyness: Displays the busyness of the storage cluster. The higher the IOPS, the busier the storage cluster. This parameter is displayed only on the dashboard.

• Physical Resource Usage:

• CPU:

• Total: Displays the total number of physical CPU cores on all hosts.

• Used: Displays the percentage of CPU cores used by the VMs in the total number of physical CPU cores on all hosts.

• Allocated: Displays the percentage of CPU cores allocated to the VMs in the total number of physical CPU cores on all hosts.

• Physical Memory:

• Total: Displays the total amount of memory on all hosts.

• Used: Displays the percentage of memory used by the VMs in the total amount of memory on all hosts.

• Allocated: Displays the percentage of memory allocated to the VMs in the total amount of memory on all hosts.

• Shared Storage Pools:

• Total: Displays the total capacity of shared storage pools.

• Used: Displays the percentage of shared storage used by the VMs in the total capacity of shared storage pools.

• Allocated: Displays the percentage of shared storage allocated to the VMs in the total capacity of shared storage pools.

• Storage Cluster IOPS: Displays the number of reads/writes processed per second by the distributed storage cluster for the most recent 30 minutes. To view the data at a particular time in point, hover over the curve. This graph is available when the deployment mode of UIS Manager is HCI.

• Read: Represents the read IOPS.

• Write: Represents the write IOPS.

• Restore: Represents the IOPS to retrieve backup data for data restoration.

• Cluster Storage Pool IOPS: Displays the number of reads/writes processed per second by the storage pools of the cluster for the most recent 30 minutes. To view the data at a particular time in point, hover over the curve. This graph is available when the deployment mode of UIS Manager is compute virtualization.

• Read: Represents the read IOPS.

• Write: Represents the write IOPS.

• Restore: Represents the IOPS to retrieve backup data for data restoration.

• Resource Statistics: Displays status statistics about VMs, hosts, disks, and storage clusters.

• VM: Displays the total number of VMs and the number of VMs in each state.

• Host: Displays the total number of hosts and the number of hosts in each state.

• Hard Disk: Displays the total number of disks and the number of disks in each state.

• Storage Cluster Usage: Displays the total capacity, used capacity, and free capacity of storage clusters.

• Top 5 VMs: Displays the top five VMs that have the highest CPU usage, memory usage, or storage usage.

• CPU: Displays the top five VMs by highest CPU usage.

• Memory: Displays the top five VMs by highest memory usage.

• Storage: Displays the top five VMs by highest storage usage.

• Top 5 Hosts: Displays the top five hosts that have the highest CPU usage, memory usage, or storage usage.

• CPU: Displays the top five hosts by highest CPU usage.

• Memory: Displays the top five hosts by highest memory usage.

• Storage: Displays the top five hosts by highest storage usage.

• Storage Cluster Throughput: Displays the distributed storage cluster I/O throughput data for the most recent 30 minutes. To view the data at a particular time in point, hover over the curve. This graph is available when the deployment mode of UIS Manager is HCI.

• Read: Represents the read throughput.

• Write: Represents the write throughput.

• Restore: Represents the throughput to retrieve backup data for data restoration.

• Cluster Storage Pool Throughput: Displays the I/O throughput of the storage pools for the most recent 30 minutes. To view the data at a particular time in point, hover over the curve. This graph is available when the deployment mode of UIS Manager is compute virtualization.

• Read: Represents the read throughput.

• Write: Represents the write throughput.

• Restore: Represents the throughput to retrieve backup data for data restoration.

• System Alarms: Displays the number of alarms for each severity (critical, major, minor, and info) and the most recent five alarms. To view all active critical alarms, click . To view all active major alarms, click . To view all active minor alarms, click . To view all active info alarms, click .
