Operation

Description

Installation & deployment

For information about how to install and deploy H3C CAS, see H3C CAS Installation Guide.

Configure operator privileges

Optional.

As a best practice to ensure security, change the default password for the admin operator at the first login. Then, create operators with different privileges and permissions. For more information, see "Manage operators."

Establish the stateful failover environment

Optional.

Configure stateful failover for management nodes to ensure service continuity by performing primary/backup node switchover upon primary node failures. For more information, see H3C Stateful Failover Configuration Guide.

Register licenses

The H3C CAS provides a 180-day free trial. The trial version and the official version provide the same functions. To continue to use the H3C CAS after the trial period expires, please obtain a license from the franchiser to upgrade the trial version to the official version. For more information, see H3C CAS Product Registration Guide.

Configure cloud resources

Incorporate the hardware infrastructure including servers, networks, and storage devices as cloud resources to the system and configure NTP server and other initial settings to enable centralized management of those resources. The cloud resources can then be allocated on demand to the upper layer VMs to meet the diversified service requirements.

Configure VMs

Create VMs with the required specifications and configure the VMs to meet the service requirements.

Configure management platform backup

Configure system backup settings to back up the system data and configuration files to a remote server.
