Perform this task to view the basic settings, advanced settings, hardware, CPU usage, and memory usage information about a VM.
On the top navigation bar, click Resources.
From the left navigation pane, select Compute > host pool name > host name > VM name or Compute > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name > VM Name.
Basic attributes:
Host: Name and IP address of the host where the VM resides.
Storage: Size of the VM disks.
Stretched Region: Host group to which the attached host of the VM belongs. This field is available only when stretched cluster is enabled.
Current Stretched Region: Host group to which the attached host of the VM belongs after VM migration. This field is available only when a VM migrates automatically because of HA or DRS and the destination host is not a host in the source host group. To have the VM stay in the current stretched region, click Join.
Preferred Stretched Region: Host group to which the attached host of the VM belongs before VM migration. This field is available only when a VM migrates automatically because of HA or DRS and the destination host is not a host in the source host group. To move the VM to its preferred stretched region, click Move.
CAStools Version: Version of CAStools on the VM. If the CAStools version is lower than the version provided by the system, the to be upgraded link is displayed. You can click the link to upgrade CAStools.
Console: Console type for VM login. The current software version supports only the VNC type.
VNC Port: VNC port number for remotely logging in to the VM.
VNC Proxy: Whether VNC proxy is enabled for the VM.
Auto Migration: Whether automatic migration is enabled for the VM.
VM Type: VM type.
Common VM: The VM is not a recovered VM.
Backup VM: The VM is created based on a storage replication or disk backup disaster recovery plan. The VM is not configured with network or storage mappings, and it cannot provide services.
Recovered VM: The VM is recovered through a storage replication disaster recovery plan. Both network and storage mappings have been configured for the VM, and the VM can provide services.
-: The VM is not created in CAS.
Anti-Virus Configuration: Anti-virus configuration status for the VM. Options include:
On—The VM is enabled with anti-virus.
Off—The VM is enabled with anti-virus.
On (Unsupported by OS)—The VM is enabled with anti-virus but the system does not support anti-virus.
On (Driver Not Installed)—The VM is enabled with anti-virus but does not have the anti-virus driver installed.
On (Driver Installation Failed)—The VM is enabled with anti-virus but fails to install the anti-virus driver.
Protection Mode: Whether protection mode is enabled for the VM.
UUID: UUID of the VM. The UUID uniquely identifies a VM.
Architecture: CPU architecture of the VM.
CPU Scheduling Priority: Priority for CPU scheduling.
Memory Resource Priority: Priority for memory assignment.
I/O Priority: I/O priority of the VM. ARM hosts do not support this parameter.
PAE: PAE state.
ACPI: ACPI state.
APIC: APIC state.
Classification Level: Classification level of the VM.
Real-Time Alarms: Number of alarms for the VM.
CPU Usage: CPU usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the CPU usage.
Memory Usage: Memory usage trend graph. The horizontal axis represents the time, and the vertical axis represents the memory usage.
Hardware settings:
CPU: CPU settings of the VM and the average CPU usage for the past hour. You can click the
icon to edit the number of CPUs and the number of CPU cores.
Memory: Memory settings of the VM and the average memory usage for the past hour. You can click the
icon to edit the memory size.
Disk: Disk settings of the VM, including the disk size, bus type, storage path (if the VM has multi-level images, you can click More to view its image chain), disk name, disk type, provision type, storage format, cache mode, disk encryption, and disk base image information.
If the storage pool that contains the directory of the VM image file is not defined, the disk size is displayed as 0. After you create a local file directory storage pool by using the path of the image file, the disk size is correctly displayed. This field will display the
icon if the storage path of the VM's disk cannot be displayed or is not the same as the actual storage path. You can click this icon to synchronize and display the correct storage path.
Network: Network settings of the VM, including the MAC address, IP address, VLAN ID, attached virtual switch, port profile, average outbound bandwidth, outbound burst buffer size, average inbound bandwidth, and inbound burst buffer size.
