In the current software version, ARM hosts do not support SR-IOV NIC management. |
SR-IOV NIC management virtualizes a physical NIC into multiple VF interfaces, and each VF interface has its own virtual PCIe channel. These virtual PCIe channels share the PCIe channel of the physical NIC. A VM can use one or multiple VF interfaces. A VM can access a VF interface directly through its own VF driver without the intervention of the hypervisor, greatly improving the network throughput performance.
SR-IOV is available only when the physical NIC supports SR-IOV.
Physical NICs enabled with SR-IOV do not support network rate limiting.
The NICs in an SR-IOV resource pool must have the same driver type.
An SR-IOV NIC mounted to a started VM cannot be removed.
VMs that are mounted with SR-IOV NICs support HA failure migration.
If the SR-IOV NIC mounted to a VM is not added to an SR-IOV resource pool, the VM does not support offline migration.
To clone or convert a VM mounted with an SR-IOV NIC to a template, make sure the VM is in shutdown state.
