Operators can use VM or host groups to limit the scope of VM-VM affinity rules or host rules.
If a VM group or host group has been specified in an affinity rule, the group cannot be deleted.
You cannot edit or delete the following VM groups and host groups. The system changes the VMs or hosts in these four groups accordingly when you add hosts to or remove hosts from the cluster local region or remote region and delete these groups when you disable stretched cluster configuration.
Stretched host groups with a name of "cluster name_Host Group in Local Region" or "cluster name_Host Group in Remote Region"
Stretched VM groups with a name of "cluster name_VM Group in Local Region" or "cluster name_VM Group in Remote Region"
If a stretched cluster has been configured, you cannot add the following VM groups or host groups:
Stretched VM groups with a name of "cluster name_VM Group in Local Region" or "cluster name_VM Group in Remote Region"
Stretched host groups with a name of "cluster name_Host Group in Local Region" or "cluster name_Host Group in Remote Region"
