Manage application monitor tasks
Application monitor task management allow operators to monitor services on VMs by using application monitor policies. A VM, a host, and a cluster can support a maximum of 16, 256, and 1024 concurrent application HA tasks, respectively.
Restrictions and guidelines
To monitor the states of applications for a VM, you must install CAStools for the VM.
All application HA monitor tasks of a cluster will be suspended if you disable HA for the cluster.
All application HA monitor tasks of a VM will be suspended if you disable HA for the VM or move the VM to the recycle bin.
Add an application monitor task
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Click Add App Monitor Task.
Configure the task parameters as described in "Parameters."
Click OK.
Edit an application monitor task
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Click the Edit icon
for a task.
Edit the task parameters as described in "Parameters."
Click OK.
Delete application monitor tasks
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Click the Delete icon
for a task.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
Start an application monitor task
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Click the Start icon
for a task.
Click OK.
Suspend an application monitor task
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Click the Suspend icon
for a task.
Click OK.
Start application monitor tasks in bulk
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Select multiple application monitor tasks, and then click Batch Actions > Start.
Click OK.
Suspend application monitor tasks in bulk
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Select multiple application monitor tasks, and then click Batch Actions > Suspend.
Click OK.
Delete application monitor tasks in bulk
On the top navigation bar, click Cloud Resources, and then select Hosts & Clusters > Clusters > APP HA from the navigation pane.
Select multiple application monitor tasks, and then click Batch Actions > Delete.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
Parameters
Task Name: Enter the name of the service to be monitored.
VM: Select the VM to be monitored.
Monitor Policy: Select an application monitor policy for the task.
