H5 video redirection is configured through a global policy. HTML5 (short for H5) is the fifth version of HTML. H5 video redirection redirects online videos played in Chrome on a desktop to the endpoint for playing. Playing online videos on the endpoint locally has similar play effect as playing them on a desktop. This function does not require plug-ins and avoids the problems of not supporting, member login, and advertisement elimination caused by plug-ins.
H5 video redirection is applicable to scenes where online videos are played on the cloud desktop. This function reduces the pressure on servers while proving high video quality.
Enable H5 video redirection globally.
Enable H5 video redirection for predefined or user-added website addresses.
On the cloud desktop, load the H5 video redirection extension program by using the developer mode of the Chrome browser, and enable H5 video redirection. The Chrome browser will redirect online videos from the website addresses enabled with H5 video redirection. An HTML5 redirection flag appears in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
H5 video redirection is applicable only to VDI clients, and endpoints must be Windows, Linux(X86), or Linux(ARM32).
To use H5 video redirection to play online videos, cloud desktops must be able to access the external network. To play online videos on tudou.com, the endpoint must be able to access the external network.
If multiple online videos are played, only the first video can be redirected, and H5 video redirection and local video redirection cannot be used at the same time. For information about configuring local video redirection, see H3C Workspace Client User Guide (for Office Scenario).
If all users use the H5 video redirection function for playing online videos, you can install Chrome 63 (32-bit or 64-bit) when creating desktop images. If a single user uses the H5 video redirection function, you can install Chrome 63 (32-bit or 64-bit) after obtaining the cloud desktop.
