Perform this task to restore a VM to a state at a specific time by specifying a backup file.
Make sure the VM to restore is in shutdown state.
The duration of VM restoration depends on the size of the VM backup file. The larger the file, the longer it takes to restore a VM.
If you use a backup file on a remote server to restore a VM configured with CPU bindings, and the number of CPU cores on the host to which the VM is attached is fewer than the number of CPU cores bound to the VM, the CPU bindings are lost after VM restoration.
After you create or restore a VM successfully, you must verify that the port profile, vFirewall, anti-virus, PCI device, TPM device, passthrough, NUMA node, and VNC proxy settings are as required.
Perform this taks to create a new VM from a specific restore point. To avoid IP address conflict, you must manually edit network settings for the new VM. After you verify the data, you can use this VM as a production VM.
To create a new VM:

If you choose to restore a VM, the original VM will be overwritten. After restoration, the network settings will be restored to the time when the VM was backed up.
