The following information describes the tasks to manage a VOI desktop pool.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select a desktop pool, and then click Edit.
Edit the desktop pool configuration, and then click Finish.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select a desktop pool, and then click Delete.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
With this feature enabled for a desktop pool, desktops in the desktop pool will automatically install the drivers on the Applications > Application Center > Drivers page and applications on the Applications > Application Center > App Store page if users open the app store on the desktops.

From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VDI desktop pool.
Click More at the top of the desktop pools page.
Select Auto Software Driver Installation, and then select Enable or Disable.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
This task is used for enabling or disabling restoration point creation for all desktops in a desktop pool. In restoration point creation mode, a desktop uses the point of time before restoration point creation is disabled as the desktop restoration point. If you configure Restoration Mode as Full Restore or System Restore , a desktop will be restored to the restoration point after it restarts.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VDI desktop pool.
Click More at the top of the desktop pools page.
Select Restoration Point Creation, and then select On or Off.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
In the dialog box that opens, if you click OK, endpoints in the desktop pool will be restarted immediately and enter the restoration point creation mode. If you click Cancel, you must restart the endpoints manually to enter the restoration point creation mode.
A desktop pool uses one authorization policy for all desktops if it performs anonymous user authorization. This policy is configurable at the pool level. To change the authorization for anonymous users, edit the desktop pool configuration.
In a desktop pool for single-user authorization, authorization policies are configurable on a per-client basis.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target desktop pool, and then click in the Authorized User Login Name column for a client.
In the dialog box that opens, change the user or authorization policy, and then click OK.
This task is applicable to VOI desktop pools that perform multi-user authorization.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target desktop pool, and then click Select VOI Clients.
In the dialog box that opens, select users or user groups, and then select their respective authorization policies, and then click OK.
This task is applicable to VOI desktop pools that perform multi-user authorization.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target desktop pool, and then click Users on top of the client list.
In the dialog box that opens, select users or user groups, and then click Delete Authorizations.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
To help an online VOI desktop user resolve desktop issues, you can access that desktop from its console.
From the left navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Click Console in the Actions column for a desktop.
Perform the following operations as needed in the console:
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Start VOI clients:
To start multiple clients, select the target clients from the client list, click More on top of the list, and then select Start. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
To start a client, click Start in the Actions column for that client. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Shut down VOI clients:
To shut down multiple clients, select the target clients from the client list, click More on top of the list, and then select Shut Down. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
To shut down a client, click Shut Down in the Actions column for that client. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Restart VOI clients:
To restart multiple clients, select the target clients from the client list, click More on top of the list, and then select Restart. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
To restart a client, click More in the Actions column for that client, and then select Restart. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
From the navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Remove VOI clients:
To remove multiple clients, select the target clients from the client list, click More on top of the list, and then select Remove All. In the dialog box that opens, select I am fully aware of the impacts of this operation, enter the administrator password, and then click OK.
To remove a client, click More in the Actions column for that client, and then select Remove. In the dialog box that opens, select I am fully aware of the impacts of this operation, enter the administrator password, and then click OK.
You can configure desktop monitoring settings on a per-client basis. To view desktop summary and performance monitoring data for a VOI client on its details page, you must enable the client to report monitoring data.
From the left navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Click More in the Actions column for a client, and then select Set Monitor.
In the dialog box that opens, configure desktop monitoring settings:
To view summary and performance data about the desktop, enable it to report data, set the report interval, and then click OK.
To disable the system from displaying summary and performance data about the desktop, disable it from reporting data, and then click OK.
The system displays desktop summary and performance monitoring data for a VOI client if you enable that client to report monitoring data. To remove history desktop monitoring data for that client and view only new monitoring data, perform this task.
From the left navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
Select one or multiple clients from the client list, click More on top of the list, and then select Clear Monitoring Data.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
From the left navigation pane, select Desktop Pools & Groups > Desktop Pools.
Select the target VOI desktop pool.
In the client list, click the name of a client.
The client details page opens. On the page, you can obtain basic information, summary data, performance data, and process data about the client. On the page, you can perform various client operations, including startup, restart, shutdown, removal from the desktop pool, and monitoring setup.
To view desktop summary and performance data for a VOI client, you must enable that VOI client to report monitoring data. |
