A flavor defines the CPU, memory, and system disk capacity for desktop images or courses. You can configure VDI, IDV, and VOI flavors for creating desktop images or courses.
ARM hosts do not support IDV and VOI endpoints.
IDV endpoints are not supported in education scenarios.
The system has predefined default VDI, IDV, and VOI flavors. The default VDI flavors can be edited, but cannot be deleted. The default IDV and VOI flavors cannot be edited or deleted.
The system disk size defined in the default VDI, IDV, and VOI flavors has been proved to be the best setting. As a best practice, do not change it.
If you are to change the system disk size in a VOI flavor, make sure the size is sufficient for creating courses. The maximum available system disk size = total system disk size of the endpoint - operating system size of the endpoint (approximately 14 GB) - VOI image size (or the total image size when multiple images exist). For example, in the education scenario, if the total system disk size of the user VOI endpoint is 256 GB, and two images (each with a size of 30 GB) need to be downloaded, the maximum system disk size for the created VOI course is: 256 - 14 - 2 × 30 = 182 GB. In office scenarios, typically only one image is required to be downloaded. Assuming that the image is 30 GB, the maximum system disk size is: 256 - 14 - 30 = 212 GB.
To run a desktop of a Windows 10 operating system on a C200V or C201V VOI endpoint, use Windows 10 version 1709 as a best practice to reduce the size of the system disk.
From the navigation pane, select System > Flavors.
Click Create.
Select the flavor type, configure the parameters as described in "Parameters," and then click OK.
From the navigation pane, select System > Flavors.
Click Edit in the Actions column for a flavor.
Edit the parameters as described in "Parameters," and then click OK.
From the navigation pane, select System > Flavors.
To delete flavors in bulk, select the flavors, click Delete above the flavor list, and then click OK in the dialog box that opens.
To delete a single flavor, click Delete in the Actions column for the flavor, and then click OK in the dialog box that opens.
CPU: Specify the number of CPU cores.
Memory: Specify the memory size in GB.
Total Disk Size: Set the total disk size in GB. This parameter is required for IDV or VOI endpoints.
System Disk: Specify the system disk size in GB.
Edit Data Disk Capacity: Configure whether to enable editing the data disk capacity of VOI endpoints based on this flavor. If you enable this feature, the system issues commands to set the virtual memory size of a VOI endpoint to the memory size in this flavor if the virtual memory size does not match the flavor. If you disable this feature, the system does not edit the virtual memory size of a VOI endpoint.
