Local licensing

You can register a license through local licensing as follows:

  1. Obtain the host information file for the host installed with CVM. The host information file will be used for license activation. To request a heterogeneous migration license, obtain the hardware code file.

  1. Obtain a license activation file by using the host information file. For more information, see the license registration guide for the product.

  1. Import the license activation file to CVM to finish license registration.

  1. If the license you registered is a formal one, you can also export the license activation file (casLicense.lic) to the local disk.

Obtain the host information file

  1. On the top navigation bar, click System.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Licenses.

  1. Click Local Licensing.

  1. Configure the parameters as described in "Parameters."

  1. Click Download.

The host information file is automatically downloaded to the local disk. The name of the host information file is host.info by default.

Register a license

  1. On the top navigation bar, click System.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Licenses.

  1. Click Register.

  1. Click Browse.

  1. Select the license activation file to be imported to CVM.

  1. Click OK.

Export license information

  1. On the top navigation bar, click System.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Licenses.

  1. Click Export.

The license activation file will be downloaded to the local disk. The name of the activation file is casLicense.lic by default.

Download hardware codes

  1. On the top navigation bar, click System.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Licenses.

  1. In the Disk Backup Disaster Recovery License or Heterogeneous Migration License area, click Download Host Info File.

The hardware code file is automatically downloaded to the local disk. The name of the hardware code file is HardInfo.dat by default.
