Delete a VM

Restrictions and guidelines

You can delete a VM in any state, including the running state. To avoid data loss, be cautious when you delete VMs.

If you have deleted a VM that has block devices, you cannot import it through a backup file.

If you select Low-Level Format and Delete Data Storage Files when you delete a VM, the system performs low-level format for and then delete the data storage files. If the storage volume is large, it might take a long time. Please use this option with caution.

If the image file of a VM is saved in a level-2 directory not in use by other VMs in a file storage pool, deleting the VM also deletes the directory.
