Appendix A  Usage of License

A.1  Using the Services Carried by Licenses

Each license authorized to the user by the H3C XE 200/2000 IP PBX records a part of user-customized services. The total of all licenses records all of user-customized services. If the user wants to add a service, the agent or carrier will generate a new license to the user according to the added service or expanded data. The total services include the original services and the newly added service. The attempt to add a license existing on the current host succeeds only after it is deleted.

A.2  Format of License

Each license is s string consisting of 36 valid characters, grouped by five separators, every six characters being a group. The format of the license is as follows:

xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx

“x” stands for a valid character.

The character must be selected from the following character set.

A.3  Usage of License

A.3.1  Adding a License

You can use the xe-license command to add the service in a license to the current service data. If the license is valid, the service data will be updated; otherwise, the system will prompt “Invalid License!” If the license already exists, the system will prompt “This License has existed!” The user can add up to 128 licenses. If he enters invalid licenses for ten consecutive times, he is not allowed to enter any license any more unless he reboots the host.

A.3.2  Deleting a License

You can use the undo xe-license command to delete a license from the service data, or to delete all service data. If the license to be deleted exists, the service data will be updated; otherwise, the system will prompt “Can not find this License!”

You can use the display xe-service command to display all current services loaded by the XE IP PBX.
