IMPORTANT: · To verify compatibility of the card with the software release you are using, see the release notes. · For an S12500X-AF switch, this card can be used only with Type F switching fabric modules, which have a character string of SFF in their card identifiers (for example, LSXM1SFF16C1). This card cannot operate correctly if it is used with a switching fabric module that is not Type F. · Remove the protection box from the card before you install the card. · Follow these guidelines to install the card: ? On an S12500-X switch, install the card directly in the target slot. ? On an S12500X-AF switch, install an interface module adapter in the target slot before you install the card. No interface module adapter is provided with the card, purchase one before installation. · To use the card, make sure a minimum of one switching fabric module is installed in the three lowest-numbered switching fabric module slots. When you install switching fabric modules in all these three switching fabric module slots, the card forwards data at wire speed. |

NOTE: On an S12500X-AF switch, switching fabric module slots are covered by fan trays. To verify the card identifiers of the switching fabric modules while the switch is operating, use the display device command. |
