FCoE Configuration Guide

Describes the application scenarios, fundamentals, and configuration of Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).

FCoE transports FC over Ethernet. In an FCoE solution:

·     The server uses an FCoE-capable Ethernet adapter.

·     The FCoE forwarder (FCF) switch integrates the functions of both the traditional IP switch and FC switch.

FCoE reduces the number of network adapters, switches, and cables, and the network operation and maintenance workload. In all, FCoE reduces the total cost.

OpenFlow Configuration Guide

Describes the application scenarios, fundamentals, and configuration of OpenFlow.

OpenFlow allows a controller to directly access and operate the forwarding plane of the switch, separating the control plane from the data plane. The switch matches and forwards packets according to the flow tables issued by the controller. In the same flow table, the switch matches the packets according to the priority of the flow entries. An OpenFlow switch can contain one or more flow tables.

VXLAN Configuration Guide

Describes the application scenarios, fundamentals, and configuration of Virtual eXtensible LAN (VXLAN).

VXLAN is a MAC-in-UDP technology that provides Layer 2 connectivity between distant network sites across an IP network. VXLAN is typically used in data centers and campus access networks for multitenant services.

EVPN Configuration Guide

Describes the application scenarios, fundamentals, and configuration of Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN).

EVPN is a Layer 2 VPN technology, which uses MP-BGP to advertise EVPN routes in the control plane and uses VXLAN for traffic forwarding in the data plane. This guide includes:

·     EVPN overview

·     EVPN VXLAN

·     EVPN VPLS
