For license-based software features, you must install licenses to use the features. This document provides information about license-based features and licenses available for them. For information about registering, installing, or managing a license, see H3C Software Products Remote Licensing Guide.

IMPORTANT:

License-based features and attributes of licenses might change with software version over time. This document contains information about only licenses for software versions shipped with the products and some of the information might change over time. To obtain the most up-to-date information about licenses or information about licenses for software versions not listed in this document, contact your H3C sales representative or contact H3C Support.

SeerEngine-DC

IMPORTANT:

· H3C SeerEngine-DC supports only remote licensing.

· H3C SeerEngine-DC supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

Table 1 SeerEngine-DC license types

Preinstalled license	· Controller: 180 days · Unified Platform: 90 days	Not supported	A preinstalled license is time limited. The validity period starts on initial startup of the software system. When a preinstalled license expires, the feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. All the preinstalled licenses for a component becomes invalid if you install a trial or formal license for the component. For example, if you install a formal quantity license for a component, the preinstalled feature license installed for the component becomes invalid. After you uninstall the formal license, the preinstalled license takes effect if it has not expired. Identify the number of nodes supported by a preinstalled license: · SeerEngine-DC preinstalled license: Unlimited. · Unified Platform network management preinstalled license: 50 devices.

IMPORTANT:

· For versions earlier than E6203 (including versions E61xx and E3xxx), if a controller cannot connect to the License Server because of license obtaining failure or network error, the controller enters the fail-safe mode. In fail-safe mode, you can use all features on the controller in 30 days. If the controller obtains a license or the connection recovers within 30 days, the controller exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the controller cannot obtain a license or the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· For versions E6203 and later, if a network connection error occurs between a SeerEngine-DC and the License Server, the SeerEngine-DC enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-DC exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

It applies to service nodes including those in south-north and east-west service chains. A virtual service node can be an NFV device (VSR, vFW, vLB) or an M9000 or F5000 virtual device (context). For example, to create a service chain from context A to context B that passes through the vFW and vLB nodes, configure two virtual service nodes.
vSwitch	H3C S1020V, 1 CPU License	E31xx E32xx E36xx E37xx E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license. The number of licenses is the total number of physical processors of servers deployed with S1020V.
Third-party vSwitch	H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Virtual Switches, 1 vSwitch	E31xx E32xx E36xx E37xx E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license used for third-party vSwitches. The license applies only to hybrid overlay scenarios.
VNFM	H3C AD-DC VNF Manager Software License, 1 Cluster t	E31xx E32xx E36xx E37xx E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license used for VNF Manager features.
Port-fixed switch	H3C AD-DC Management License for Fixed-Port Switches, 1 Device	E61xx E62xx	Required license used for port-fixed switches. The number of license seats reduces one each time a port-fixed switch is incorporated.
Modular switch	H3C AD-DC Management License for Modular Switches, 1 Device	E61xx E62xx	Required license used for modular switches. A modular switch requires a license when it is incorporated.
CR router	H3C AD-DC Management License for CR Router Series, 1 Device	E61xx E62xx	Required license used for CR routers. A CR router requires a license when it is incorporated.
Port-fixed switch value adding	H3C AD-DC Management License for Value-Added Services, 1 Port-Fixed Switch	E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license used for value added services of port-fixed switches, which include simulation and one-click recovery for the entire network. Each license for a port-fixed switch can manage a valid number of devices. The number of license seats reduces one each time a port-fixed switch is incorporated. If the number of reduced license seats is not larger than the number of purchased licenses, you can use all value-added features.
Modular switch value adding	H3C AD-DC Management License for Value-Added Services, 1 Modular Switch	E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license used for value added services of modular switches, which include simulation and one-click recovery for the entire network. Each license for a port-fixed switch can manage a valid number of devices. The number of license seats reduces one each time a port-fixed switch is incorporated.. If the number of reduced license seats is not larger than the number of purchased licenses, you can use all value-added features.
RoCE	H3C AD-DC Management License for SeerFabric, 1 Device	E61xx E62xx E63xx	Optional license used for physical switches that are activated with the SeerFabric feature. A switch activated with the SeerFabric feature requires a license when it is incorporated. The license is only available for the SeerFabric scenario.
Fixed-port switch management and control	H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Fixed-Port Switches, 1 Device	E63xx	Required license for licensing a fixed-port physical switch and activating the network management feature of Unified Platform. A fixed-port switch requires a license when it is incorporated.
Modular switch management and control	H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for Modular Switches, 1 Device	E63xx	Required license for licensing a modular physical switch and activating the network management feature of Unified Platform. A modular switch requires a license when it is incorporated.
CR router management and control	H3C AD-DC Management and Control License for CR Router Series, 1 Device	E63xx	Required license for licensing a CR router and activating the network management feature of Unified Platform. A CR router requires a license when it is incorporated.
Network device management licensing	H3C AD-NET Management License for Basic Network Management, 1 Device	E0706 and later (Unified Platform)	Optional license used for activating the network management feature of Unified Platform. You can manage the license on the license information page of Unified Platform. In the multi-scenario convergence deployment, a device requires a license when it is incorporated. If the license of the controller already contains the network management license, you do not need to purchase this license again.

SeerEngine-Campus

IMPORTANT:

· H3C SeerEngine-Campus supports only remote licensing.

· H3C SeerEngine-Campus supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

When a preinstalled license expires, the feature becomes unavailable. To continue to use the feature, you must purchase and install a formal license for it. All the preinstalled licenses for a component becomes invalid if you install a trial or formal license for the component. For example, if you install a formal quantity license for a component, the preinstalled feature license installed for the component becomes invalid. After you uninstall the formal license, the preinstalled license takes effect if it is not expired. H3C SeerEngine-Campus Software Additional 1 Server Node License does not support a preinstalled license. The validity period for other types of controller licenses and Unified Platform preinstalled license is 90 days. Identify the number of nodes supported by a preinstalled license: · SeerEngine-Campus preinstalled license: Allows 1 controller node to manage 50 physical NEs. · Unified Platform network management preinstalled license: Manages 50 devices.

IMPORTANT:

· For versions E31xx, E32xx, and versions earlier than E3308, if a SeerEngine-Campus cannot connect to the License Server because of license obtaining failure or network error, the SeerEngine-Campus enters the fail-safe mode. In fail-safe mode, you can use all features on the SeerEngine-Campus in 30 days. If the SeerEngine-Campus obtains a license or the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus goes back to the normal state. If the SeerEngine-Campus cannot obtain a license or the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· For E3308 later and E61xx versions, if a network connection error occurs between a SeerEngine-Campus and the License Server, the SeerEngine-Campus enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In the fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-Campus exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

In IRF scenarios, the actual switches are counted during IRF fabric creation. After the IRF fabric is created, the controller-incorporated devices are counted.
Virtual service node	H3C AD-Campus Controller Management License for Service Chain, 1-Node	E32xx E33xx E61xx and later	Optional license that is previously referred to as the service chain node license. It applies to service nodes including those in south-north and east-west service chains. A virtual service node can be an M9000 or F5000 virtual device (context) or a firewall module.
PON	H3C SeerEngine Campus Additional 1 PON Device License	E32xx E33xx E61xx and later	Optional license. The number of PON licenses is the total number of ONUs incorporated by the SDN network.
Controller	H3C DR2000 ADCampus Director, Service Orchestration Feature License	E3311P09 and later E33xx versions	Optional. After DR2000 is upgraded to AD-Campus 5.3, the license is assigned to the controller in the standalone environment.
Controller	H3C DR2000 ADCampus Director, High Availability Enhance License	E3311P09 and later E33xx versions	Optional. After DR2000 is upgraded to AD-Campus 5.3, the license is assigned to the controller in the cluster environment.
Physical NE	H3C DR2000 ADCampus Director, xx Licenses	E3311P09 and later E33xx versions	Optional. After DR2000 is upgraded to AD-Campus 5.3, xx licenses are assigned to physical NEs.
Controller	H3C AD-Campus Management and Control Software License	E61xx and later	Optional license. For E61xx controllers, select either the H3C AD-Campus Controller Software License or H3C SeerEngine Campus Additional 1 Server Node License. As a best practice, use this license for the E61xx controllers as a preferred selection because a cluster requires only one H3C AD-Campus Controller Software License.
Physical NE	H3C AD-Campus Controller Management License for S3100 Series, 1-Device	E61xx and later	Optional license. The number of S3100 series licenses is the total number of S3100 series physical NEs incorporated by the controller.
Physical NE	H3C AD-Campus Controller Management License for S5100 Series, 1-Device	E61xx and later	Optional license. The number of S5100 series licenses is the total number of S5100 series physical NEs incorporated by the controller.

If an incorporated spine, leaf, core, or distribution device uses H3C AD-Campus Controller Management License for xxxx Series, 1-Device, the device also requires one H3C AD-Campus Controller Service Automation License, 1-Device. If the incorporated device uses H3C SeerEngine Campus Additional 1 Physical Switch License, the device does not require such a license.
Physical NE	H3C AD-Campus Controller Free Mobility License, 1-Device	E61xx and later	Optional license. If an incorporated spine, leaf, core, or distribution device uses H3C AD-Campus Controller Management License for xxxx Series, 1-Device, the device also requires one H3CAD-Campus Controller Free Mobility License,1-Device. If the incorporated device uses H3C SeerEngine Campus Additional 1 Physical Switch License, the device does not require such a license.

IMPORTANT:

· H3C SeerEngine-WAN supports only remote licensing.

· H3C SeerEngine-WAN supports preinstalled licenses, trial licenses, and formal licenses.

When the devices are deployed in standalone mode, each device requires a license. When the devices operate as an IRF 2 fabric, each fabric requires a license.
Network slicing	H3C AD-WAN Management and Control License for Network Slicing, 50 Devices	E6304 and later E65xx	Optional license used for AD-WAN carrier network slicing. The license is applied according to the device number, and every 50 devices require one license.
Management and control device	H3C AD-WAN Management and Control Software License, 1 Server	E6304 and later E65xx	Required license. Each controller node requires a license. For example, a three-node cluster requires three licenses.
Carrier network NE for management and control	H3C AD-WAN Management and Control License for Backbone NEs, 1 Device	E6304 and later E65xx	Required license used in an AD-WAN carrier network solution. Each device requires one license and has the functions of a carrier controller and basic network management.

· For E61xx versions, if a SeerEngine-SDWAN cannot connect to the License Server because of license obtaining failure or network error, the SeerEngine-SDWAN enters the fail-safe mode. In fail-safe mode, you can use all features on the SeerEngine-SDWAN in 30 days. If the SeerEngine-SDWAN obtains a license or the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-SDWAN exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the SeerEngine-SDWAN cannot obtain a license or the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the SeerEngine-SDWAN exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.

· For versions E62xx and later, if a network connection error occurs between a SeerEngine-SDWAN and the License Server, the SeerEngine-SDWAN enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the SeerEngine-SDWAN exits fail-safe mode goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within in 30 days, the SeerEngine-SDWAN exits fail-safe mode becomes unavailable.

IMPORTANT:

If a network connection error occurs between an IMC V9 component and the License Server, the IMC V9 component enters the fail-safe mode right after 24 hours. In fail-safe mode, the obtained license validity period is extended for 30 days. If the connection recovers within 30 days, the IMC V9 component exits fail-safe mode and goes back to the normal state. If the connection fails to recover within 30 days, the IMC V9 component exits fail-safe mode and becomes unavailable.
