2 About the MPU

The CR-19K-MPU-20B main processing unit (MPU) is applicable to the CR19000-20 and CR19000-MC core routers. It provides the following functionalities:

· Route calculation and forwarding table maintenance.

· System configuration, control, and monitoring. On the MPU, you can monitor, upgrade software, and reset a module.

· High-precision clock and time synchronization.

· Real-time clock (RTC) that keeps tracks of the current time, providing seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information.

· Support for active/standby switchover when two MPUs are installed on the router.

IMPORTANT:

If you install two MPUs for the router, make sure they are the same model.
