2 About the MPU

The CR-19K-MPU-08A main processing unit (MPU) is applicable to the CR19000-8 core router. It provides the following functionalities:

· Route calculation and forwarding table maintenance.

· System configuration, control, and monitoring. On the MPU, you can monitor, upgrade software, and reset a module.

· Real-time clock (RTC) that keeps tracks of the current time, providing seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information.

· Support for active/standby switchover when two MPUs are installed on the router.

IMPORTANT:

· If you install two MPUs for the router, make sure they are the same model.

· Management ports 2 and 3 are used for control plane connection in cluster mode.
