Perform this task to delete a VM not in running state.
A VM that has block devices cannot be restored by importing a VM backup file.
If you select Low-Level Format and Delete Data Storage Files when you delete a VM, the system performs low-level format for and then delete the data storage files. The data files are permanently deleted and they cannot be restored. If the storage volume is large, it might take a long time. Please use this option with caution. As a best practice, do not select the formatting the disk and deleting data files option for non-sensitive data. If you have to select this option, make sure the data files will not be used any more.
On the top navigation bar, click VMs. If multiple clusters exist in the system, you must also select a cluster from the left navigation pane.
Select a VM, click More on the VM tile, and then select Delete, or select a VM from the navigation pane to enter the VM overview page, and then click Delete.
Select the way the VM is deleted:
Move to Recycle Bin/ Keep Data Storage Files—Click OK, and then click OK in the dialog box that opens.
