Configure cloud host settings

You can perform this task to specify the maximum number of permitted host images, configure auto domain joining, and configure anti-virus connection.

To configure cloud host settings:

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Network, and then select Cloud Hosts from the Compute menu.

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Advanced Settings.

  1. On the Cloud Host Settings page, click Edit.

  1. Configure cloud host settings as needed and then click OK.

Parameter

Description

Max Cloud Host Images

Specify the maximum number of images that can be created for a cloud host.

Max Cloud Host Recovery and Storage Period

Specify the retention period during which the cloud hosts in the recycle bin are stored. If you do not specify this parameter, the cloud hosts are permanently stored.

Auto Domain Join of Windows Hosts (VMware)

Specify the address of the domain controller to which Windows hosts join automatically. The domain controller setting modification does not take effect on existing cloud hosts.

Account Name

Specify the name of an account that has the permission to add Windows hosts to the domain controller.

Account Password

Specify the account password.

Anti-Virus Connection

Specify the username, password, IP address, and port number for logging in to the antivirus server.

Custom Password Complexity

Specify the complexity policy for the custom passwords of cloud hosts and bare metal nodes. By default, the custom password must contain letters, digits, and special characters.

Custom Password Length

Specify the minimum length for the custom passwords of cloud hosts and bare metal nodes, in the range of 6 to 32. The default setting is 8.

Enable Swap Partition Configuration

Enable this option if you want to create swap virtual memory partitions for cloud host instances.

Configure a device name in mounting a cloud disk to a cloud host

Enable this option if you want to customize the name of the cloud host when you mount a cloud disk to it.

This option applies to only CAS cloud hosts, and it is turned off by default.

HugePage

Configure whether allow a cloud host to use the HugePage configuration of the physical server. By default, this feature is disabled. To use HugePage on cloud hosts, enable this feature, and log in to CAS to enable HugePage on physical servers before you create cloud hosts.
