Introduction to Routing Technology
The Comware software platform provides a variety of routing protocols, integrates the telecom-class high-speed large-capacity routing engine, and supports IPv4, IPv6 and IPX networks. The routing engine of the Comware software platform provides diversified solutions to high reliability of networks. It also provides a variety of high intelligent traffic control measures to IP and MPLS networks.
Abundant Routing Protocols
As a general network operating system platform, the Comware software platform supports all kinds of data communication products. The Comware software platform provides abundant routing protocols to meet requirements of different types of networks such as IPv4, IPv6 and IPX.
l IPv4 network: It supports static routing, OSPF, ISIS, RIP and BGP;
l IPv6 network: It supports static routing, OSPFv3, ISISv6, RIPng and BGP4+;
l IPX network: It supports static routing and RIP.
High-Speed Large-Capacity Routing Engine and Fast Convergence
The telecom-class high-speed large-capacity routing engine provided by the Comware software platform supports the routing capacity up to 512K. It can satisfy demands from campus networks, enterprise networks and telecom backbone networks.
At the same time, the Comware software platform adopts a series of advanced routing fast convergence technologies. In this way, the network may quickly recover in the event of any turbulence, so as to minimize the traffic interruption duration. Such technologies include bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) and a variety of SPF fast convergence technologies.
BFD is independent of protocols. It can apply to fast neighbor detection for such protocols as OSPF, IS-IS and BGP. BFD may shorten the neighbor detection time to 50ms.
SPF fast convergence technologies include back off algorithm, Fast Flood, index back off algorithm for SPF calculation interval, PRC routing calculation, and I-SPF incremental SPF algorithm. The Comware software platform has applied such technologies to the typical link status algorithm routing protocols: OSPF and IS-IS. In this way, the convergence performance of these most popular routing protocols is greatly improved.
