The H3C SR6600 series routers (referred to as SR6600 hereafter) are a series of high-performance multi-service routers of H3C. The routers are developed independently by H3C with tailor-made features for the networks of telecom carriers and industry users.  

To adapt to the current applications and future service development trends of the telecom carriers networks and the IT construction in various industries, the SR6600 is developed based on the industry-leading software and hardware platforms that feature multi-core processor technology. It is suitable for complicated service process handling.  It provides extremely flexible, all-round and efficient multi-service process capability. For the expansion and adaptation of the future new services and new requirements, it provides incomparable flexibility and fast response capability that other hardware platforms cannot provide. At the same time, the large-scale innovative application of the multi-core, multi-thread processor implements the full parallel high-speed processing the different service streams and packets. The multi-core, multi-thread processor helps to break the bottleneck of the traditional single-core CPU. It opens up a balanced new world of service and performance.

The SR6600 innovative implements the fully distributed processing of various value-added service s on the high-end routers. Without the need of configuring any additional service processing or speed escalating module, it is equipped with embedded high-performance Netstream, ASPF, IPSec, NAT and other value-added services on the service engine (FIP-100/FIP-200). The fully distributed processing of multiple services optimizes the data processing process, mitigates the performance bottleneck of the service consolidated processing, and streamlines product configuration. At the same time, it greatly saves user investment, and improves the system resource utility. It is a crucial step of the high-end routers towards new multi-service network applications and diverse applications in the future service expansion.  

Based on the design concept of the brand new hardware platform and service oriented processing, the SR6600 series open multi-core routers perfectly present the new solutions of data communication service convergence & access and enterprise gateway.

The SR6600 series consists of three models currently,  SR6602 , SR6604 and  SR6608.

Positioned as high-performance service core gateway, the SR6602 provides high-performance forwarding and session management capabilities. It can also work as the convergence and access equipment of the telecom carriers and industry networks. It is one of highest processing performance routers in the single-rack (1RU) router field.

The SR6604 and SR6608 are positioned as the high-performance convergence equipment of the medium- and large-scale networks of the telecom carriers and industries, and the core equipment of small- and medium-scale networks. It features powerful broadband, narrowband and VPN convergence capabilities. At the same time, it provides the carrier-class reliability design of the dual main control systems, dual power supply and full distribution.  

The SR6600 provides diverse optional modules. At the same time, it is compatible with the MIM interface card of the low- and medium-end routers of H3C. It satisfies maximally different network requirements of the users, and fully protects the existing investment of the users.
