Summary

The Multiple Services Routers (MSR) series is a new product portfolio from H3C geared towards multi-service applications, delivering concurrent services of data, voice and video at wirespeed. To meet the various demands of different industries, the Multiple Services Routers series provides customers with a unique experience of network flexibility and agility. Demonstrating innovative and forward-thinking concepts, MSR integrates adaptive services into a single platform with high security and reliability, thus lowering network cost and uncertainty.

MSR employs optimized hardware and software structure to guarantee embedded security and enhanced performance while providing services covering Voice over IP (VoIP), business video and network analysis etc. By supporting a wider range of modules, MSR features higher interface density and allows for the availability of more. Regarding future network expansion and versatile network applications, MSR offers third party interfaces in accordance to the standard of Open Application Architecture (OAA). In addition, MSR adopts the most advanced Comware 5 software platform, providing abundant mainstream functions such as IPv6, MPLS TE etc.

With newly developed high performance modules compatible with some AR 28 and AR 46 interface modules, the Multiple Services Routers series offers more modern and innovative  applications while providing comprehensive investment protection on a per-user basis. Currently, MSR comprises eight products over three levels, namely MSR 20, MSR 30 and MSR 50, meeting the demands of small and medium sized enterprises and large scale corporations in every industry.

MSR 30 products MSR30-10, MSR 30-11/11E/11F, MSR30-16, MSR 30-20, MSR 30-40 and MSR 30-60 serve as mid to low end multiple service routers. Designed for small to medium sized businesses and small enterprise branch offices, the MSR 30 delivers secure, fast and concurrent services to meet various applications. With an embedded hardware-based encryption chip, the MSR 30 greatly improves security performance. In addition, the MSR 30 supports four distinct types of service modules, including the DSIC (Double-width SIC) and DMIM (Double width double height) which help to achieve convergence of routing and switching functions on a unified platform.  With scalable voice processing modules and open application architecture, the MSR 30 also gives increased flexibility while protecting investment on a per-user basis. The MSR 30 products are displayed below:

u  MSR integrates router, switch, security and voice gateway into a single platform, easing network management and increasing ROI.

u  Enhanced encryption performance, firewall capacity and security features protect the whole network. Encryption throughput can be up to 250Mbps and 2000 tunnels; firewall throughput can be 600Mbps.

u  Double-width modules ensure availability of high density ports, internal ESM slots and USB port for future applications.  One MSR30 can support up to 300 digital voices.

u  Redundant power system ensures the robustness of the network.

u  Comware 5 software platform, more features supported and better flexibility to handle different applications, IPv6 and MPLS TE supported; easily migrates to future networks.

u  L4 to L7 application recognition to ensure provision of core service.
