The H3C Neocean IX3620 is a new-generation 10 gigabit (10G) intelligent Internet Protocol (IP) storage device. The system has an industry-leading, end-to-end 10G architecture. It provides powerful expandability of up to 250 terabytes (TB) and a range of storage software capabilities. The IX3620 addresses the needs of medium- and high-end enterprises that require high performance, outstanding reliability and extensive scalability. It also provides diverse data management services to users.

The emergence of Web 2.0, service oriented architecture (SOA), grid computing, streaming media and other technologies has greatly expanded the already vast amount of data that enterprises need to manage on a daily basis. Additionally, high-performance computing is generating increased demand for I/O bandwidth per port of storage systems. The 10G storage technology can greatly improve I/O bandwidth of each port of storage systems (as much as 2.5 to 5 times that of current storage systems). This technology also has the potential of expanding to 40Gbit/s and even 100Gbit/s in the future. It is the ideal technology to cope with the continuously increasing requirements on the data processing capabilities of storage systems needed to address users’ service requirements.

Based on its continuous investment in IP storage, H3C has become the first in the industry to revolutionize 10G storage technology and launch a new generation of 10G storage products – called Neocean IX3620.

Built on the most widely used standard technologies in storage and networking – SCSI and IP, the H3C 10G technology-based IP storage system has eliminated the two bottlenecks of legacy storage systems – which are typically technically closed and underdeveloped. The system also provides the robust compatibility and interconnectivity found on Ethernet devices.
