H3C Rolls Out High-end Routers Product Line to Enhance Overall Competitiveness of Network Product Line
China, 20 December 2007 — H3C, one of the leading IP technology and solution providers, today announced the release of its high-end SR6600 open multi-core router, and SR8800 10G core router. Based on open platform architecture design, both routers are capable of building a multi-service, highly secure, and highly reliable high-end IT network for operators and enterprise customers.
SR6600 is the first router in the industry based on multi-core and multi-thread processors architecture. It breaks the performance bottleneck of the traditional single-core CPU, to keep a well balance between multiple service applications and performance guarantee.
The most distinctive characteristic of SR6600 is the flexible service features, which can adapt to the changing needs of customers. SR6600 integrates high-performance forwarding, highly flexible service processing and high-density access capability to address customer needs for diversified applications.
SR8800 10G core router features powerful forwarding performance and diverse service capabilities, satisfying the networking requirements for core and convergence layers of the large-scale IP networks. With an innovative three-engine forwarding architecture, the SR8800 can implement wire-speed forwarding of 10G services. Four planes on one system along with the distributed OAM engine facilitate carrier-class reliability. The massive ACL and precise QoS controller mechanism fully ensure the smooth multi-service operation.
According to Eric Sun, Director of Network Products at H3C, “The availability of SR8800 and SR6600 makes H3C one of the very few vendors in the industry that can provide high end routing product and technology. SR8800 boasts excellent performance, while the SR6600 provides tremendous flexibility. They provide the 10G route processing capability and open, multi-core features, all of which have helped secure their places among the top models in the industry.”
