Huawei-3Com Rolls Out New Generation Intelligent Resilient 10GE Quidway S6500 Series Switches

New generation of Quidway^® S6500 switches have been rolled out by Huawei-3com recently. The new generation intelligent resilient 10GE switches include 4 products: S6502，S6503, S6506 and S6506R. The new product has brand new Chassis, powerful new engine of Salience III series engine, new interface board with abundant services. The most important is that the new generation S6500 switches are much more cost effective than the old ones: lower price, higher performance and more features.

Quidway® S6500 series switches are Layer three switches with features of high performance, high port density and high flexibility, applicable to the enterprise network of access, convergence and core layers.

Quidway^® S6500 series switches have outstanding performance among same level products in the industry, the switching capacity of the S6506R switch with Salience III plus engine reaches up to 768G, much higher than the Salience I and II. In full configuration, the S6500 can provide up to 292 GE ports or 288 FE ports, and 6 10GE ports. There are four members for the Salience III new engine, with forwarding capacity ranging from 48Gbps to 768Gbps. Four products and four engines can meet requirements of different applications. The newly launched S6500 series also provide customers with completely backward compatibility to protect customer’s investment.
