H3C Wins Bid to Build National Digital Library of China

Hangzhou, 11 July 2008 — H3C Technologies, one of the world’s leading IP technology and solution providers, today announced that it won the bid to build a world class digital library for China’s National Library.

To build a stable, secure and efficient network platform for the digital library, H3C’s SR8800 high end routers, S9500 high end switches, WX6103 wireless controller, and S7500E multi-service switches will be used to construct a 10G network architecture. The National Library’s new 10G network will boast enhanced access speeds and is better equipped to handle heavy data exchanges, ideal for massive data archives like online libraries.

Taking future expansion into account, the network design integrates voice, data, video, security, and wireless functions to make information exchange and transmission very smooth. Hundreds of access points will be installed around the library so that readers can check information online from anywhere. In addition to hardware, the new digital library will take advantage of H3C’s iMC unified management software to realize easy network management.

“We are very excited that H3C’s wired and wireless integration solution has been once again deployed in a large state project. H3C will continue to strive for technology excellence to better serve our customers,” declares Dr. Cai who oversees education projects at H3C.
