H3C Broadens Partnership Based on Open Application Architecture (OAA) Program
May 8, 2008---H3C Technologies, the leading Internet architecture technology innovator, said today it has seen rapid progress in building alliance with peer vendors and independent software vendors to deliver integrated solutions on its Open Application Architecture. This has resulted from leveraging the company’s Internet Protocol (IP) based product advantages and the partners’ specific applications for customized, end-to-end solutions.
“H3C is taking the lead in IP technical areas such as switches and routers, security, IP SAN and IP video surveillance systems,” said William Wang, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at H3C. “By the end of 2007, H3C had become China’s largest researcher and vendor for LAN switches, enterprise routers and IP storage products, and also one of the top vendors for IP video surveillance. Based on our multiple product lines, we can provide enterprise customers with a converged and multi-service architecture to fulfill their business requirements,” added Wang.
According to Wang, the innovative OAA plan aims to bring more service and application value for enterprise customers by bundling H3C and third party vendors’ solutions based on OAA-enabled products offered by H3C. Besides, the OAA cooperation also includes multi-vendor product cross-testing for compatibility and interoperability, as well as converged management.
The OAA brings multiple benefits and advantages to all parties. For example, H3C will be able to facilitate more IP-based services on its platforms to maximize customer application value; while enterprise customers will benefit from tailor-made solutions to address their specific business needs for convenient management and high cost-performance. At the same time, partners or independent software vendors can capitalize on their own products/solutions that are jointly delivered to H3C’s broad customer base.
“We have seen significant progress since we began this plan two years ago,” continued Wang, “As more application demands arise with IP technology developments, we have found it necessary to build extensive partnerships for collaborative advantages in solution delivery. OAA is one of the most important and effective methods through which H3C can meet market demands by generating more application value for customers and partners,” added Wang.
One of the many success stories of OAA is the joint solution of data recovery and back-up based on H3C IP SAN products. Through bundling H3C’s DL1000S VTL (Virtual Tape Library) solution, and partners’ back-up software, enterprise customers can best manage and protect their business data. Furthermore, as the major wireless LAN solution vendor in China, H3C is now working with some mainstream WiFi handset makers to jointly offer end-to-end wireless voice and/or data application to enterprise customers.
“Through OAA, H3C is now expanding its alliance and partnerships in all product areas, especially for new products such as IP storage and IP video surveillance. We look forward to building long-lasting and win-win relationship with more vendors and partners,” concluded Wang.
