H3C continuously to lead in China’s IP SAN market

April 29, 2008H3C Technologies, the leading Internet architecture solution innovator, says today that it has become the fastest growing vendor in IP SAN territory, by holding the 54.7% market share in China at Q4 of 2007 and having been in the top position for 5 consecutive quarters since Q4 2006.

H3C is an early bird for iSCSI-based IP SAN technology research and development. Since the year 2003 when iSCSI standard was set up, the IP SAN technology has seen a rapid growth. Says Arthur Lee, President of Storage Product Line of H3C, “We feel that FC SAN will eventually fade out of the stage, and IP SAN will supersede, we can see the transition in the market.” According to Lee, IDC’s report reveals that IP SAN was experiencing an explosive growth rate in 2007, with a 364% year-on-year growth rate. “We believe IP SAN is the future.” Says Lee.

H3C, after 4 years dedication in IP SAN innovation, has release Next Generation 10Gb iSCSI IP SAN products and solutions. The end-to-end 10Gb IX3000 series, by adopting line-speed forwarding technology, allows 40% higher output performance than the same-level FC SAN. That will help customers to better leverage large-capacity data pooling and management and therefore to enhance extensive IP SAN applications. Furthermore, with adding more users into the list, the IP SAN will maximize its cost-performance ratio so as to form competitive advantage over FC SAN.

Listed by Gartner as one of the “Cool Vendors of Storage”, H3C has seen a number of application cases in different industries such as government, banking and financial, energy, transportation and education. The total deployed capacity of storage exceeded 20000 TB.

“We are committed to further innovations for IP SAN technology and products”, said Arthur Lee,

“We will provide more application value for our customers and partners to boost China’s IT development.”
