Perform this task to restore a shutdown VM to the state at a specific time point by using a backup file.
Make sure the VM to restore is in shutdown state.
The duration of VM restoration depends on the size of the VM backup file. The larger the file, the longer it takes to restore a VM.
If you use a backup file on a remote server to restore a VM configured with CPU bindings, and the number of CPU cores on the host where the VM resides is less than the number of CPU cores bound to the VM, the CPU bindings are lost after VM restoration.
On the top navigation bar, click Resources.
From the left navigation pane, select Compute > host pool name > host name > VM name or Compute > host pool name > cluster name > host name > VM name.
Click the Backup Management tab.
Click Restore in the Actions column for a backup file.
In the dialog box that opens, enter a temporary directory path, and then click OK.
Backup File Name: Name of the VM backup file.
Created At: Time when the VM backup file was created.
Backup Type: Type of the VM backup.
Directory: Directory that stores the VM backup file.
Size: Size of the VM backup file.
Type: VM backup type.
Storage Path: Storage path of disk backups. This parameter is available only when the backup type is disk backup.
CBT Backup: Whether the backup mode is CBT. CBT backs up only the data that has changed since the last backup, which saves time and system resources. To use CBT backup, make sure the VM is created on CAS E0525 or later and uses intelligent disks and single-level image files.
