Remote host wakeup enables you to start a shutdown host. You must set the wakeup parameters before waking up a host.
The wakeup mode of a host also takes effect when the host is waked up based on a wakeup policy.
On the top navigation bar, click Resources.
From the left navigation pane, select Compute > Host Pool Name > Host Name or Compute > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name.
Click More, and then select Wakeup Configuration.
Select a wakeup mode.
Configure the parameters as described in "Parameters."
Click OK.
On the top navigation bar, click Resources.
From the left navigation pane, select Compute > Host Pool Name > Host Name or Compute > Host Pool Name > Cluster Name > Host Name.
Click More, and then select Remote Wakeup.
In the dialog box that opens, click OK.
Configure remote wakeup settings:
Wakeup Mode: Select a wakeup mode.
Network—In network wakeup mode, a host that is operating correctly sends traffic to the host to be woken up. The network wakeup mode requires the support of ATX power supply and mainboard. To use this mode, make sure CVM and the host have Layer 2 connectivity.
IPMI—In Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) wakeup mode, the IPMI issues a command to the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) of the host to be woken up.
BMC is installed on the mainboard of the server and communicates with a separate NIC of the server. The IPMI wakeup mode requires the support of IPMI and BMC firmware. To use this mode, make sure CVM and the BMC network of the host have connectivity.
BMC: Enter the IP address of the NIC associated with the BMC. The IP address must be a permanent static IP address or DHCP-assigned IP address.
Username: Enter the BMC account of the host.
