Configure NetFlow

NetFlow collects traffic passing through a virtual switch and periodically sends the traffic to a NetFlow collector for monitoring and analysis.

Operator can add and delete NetFlow collectors, and set the activity stream export timeout for all NetFlow collectors.

Add a NetFlow collector

1. On the top navigation bar, click Hosts.

2. Select the target host, and then click the vSwitches tab.

3. Click the Advanced icon  for a virtual switch.

4. Click the NetFlow tab.

5. Click Add.

6. Configure the NetFlow collector parameters as described in "Parameters."

7. Click OK.

Delete NetFlow collectors

1. On the top navigation bar, click Hosts.

2. Select the target host, and then click the vSwitches tab.

3. Click the Advanced icon  for a virtual switch.

4. Click the NetFlow tab.

5. Click the Delete icon  for a NetFlow collector.

6. In the dialog box that opens, click OK.

Set the activity stream export timeout

1. On the top navigation bar, click Hosts.

2. Select the target host, and then click the vSwitches tab.

3. Click the Advanced icon  for a virtual switch.

4. Click the NetFlow tab.

5. Click Configure.

6. Configure the NetFlow collector parameters as described in "Parameters."

7. Click OK.

Parameters

• IP Address: Enter the IP address of the controller.

• Port: Specify the port connected to the collector.

• Activity Stream Export Timeout: Enter the timeout for a virtual switch to send data to a NetFlow collector.
