Manage a WORM policy

A WORM policy protects data from being edited or deleted during a retention period.

Restrictions and guidelines

• After you enable a WORM policy, data in the selected buckets will be protected for 24 hours. The WORM policy will automatically expire after 24 hours if you do not lock the policy within 24 hours. After the WORM policy is locked, you can only extend the retention period.

• Deleting a bucket will also delete its WORM policy.

Procedure

1. On the top navigation bar, click Storage, and then select Object Storage > Buckets from the navigation pane.

2. Select a bucket, click More, and then select WORM Policy.

• To enable a WORM policy, click Enable, enter the retention period, click Lock, and then click OK.

• To disable a WORM policy, click Disable, and then click OK.

Parameters

• Retention Period: Specify the retention period for a WORM policy.

• Lock: Lock a WORM policy. After a WORM policy is locked, you cannot unlock or disable it, and you can only extend but not shorten its retention period.
